Trailing Spouse/Partner Program: Supporting the new employee and their family
The Emporia Trailing Spouse/Partner Program makes it easier for businesses to recruit and retain great employees by helping find employment, when needed, for spouses or partners of their new or potential new employees. In considering a move to Emporia, the candidate may be hesitant to relocate for several reasons, including the fact that many families depend on two incomes to support their households. By using our Trailing Spouse/Partner Program, we hope to streamline the recruiting process when two jobs will be required in order to make the move to Emporia.
For the spouse or partner of a newly-hired employee to participate in the program, the process is simple.
Click the button below to provide the required information from the spouse or partner seeking a position:
- Your name and contact information, including email
- Name of the company in Emporia which hired or extended an offer of employment to your spouse or partner
- Your spouse of partner’s name and job title, and their anticipated start date
- Brief summary of your skills, experience and type of job being sought
- Your resume
The Chamber of Commerce will distribute the spouse or partner resume to all local businesses who are participating in the Trailing Spouse/Partner Program. The spouse or partner will be contacted by companies directly.
